The performance of the North-West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, new plans and priorities for the new financial year will be on the spotlight on Thursday, 19 May 2022 as MEC Desbo Mohono tables the 2022/2023 departmental budget and policy vote at the Provincial Legislature in Mmabatho. Major announcements can be expected on how the department is intending to refocus the agricultural sector in the province. It is also expected that on the day, MEC Mohono will share with the legislature and the communities of the North-West province, the objectives of the recently launched Muni-MEC forum, the plans to strengthen the extension and advisory services in the province as well as progress registered on different departmental programmes as committed previously.
Improving access to markets for producers especially smallholders, is expected to make it into the list of this year’s priorities.
