Mahikeng – The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development invites prospective students to seize the opportunity and apply for the 2025 academic intake at Taung Agricultural College (TAC) and Potchefstroom College of Agriculture (PCA). With only a few weeks left before the application window closes, aspiring agricultural professionals are encouraged to submit their applications and embark on a rewarding career in the farming sector.
Aspiring candidates are encouraged to apply for the Diploma in Agriculture in Irrigation at TAC or the Diploma in Agriculture (Mixed Agriculture) at PCA.
To qualify for admission at Taung Agricultural College, applicants must have a National Senior Certificate (Grade 12/Matric) or an equivalent qualification. The minimum subject requirements include English at level 4, Life Science or Agricultural Science at level 3, and Mathematics at level 3, with Mathematics Literacy at level 4. A background in Physics at level 3 will be an added advantage.
For entry into the Diploma in Agriculture (Mixed Agriculture) at Potchefstroom College of Agriculture, compulsory subjects include Afrikaans or English, with a minimum achievement of 50-59% (level 4), along with Agricultural Sciences, Agricultural Management Practices, or Agricultural Technology.
Recommended subjects include Mathematics, Physical Science, Business Economics, Economics, Life Science, Accounting, Mathematical Literacy, Engineering, and Natural Science. Applicants must score a minimum of 24 points on the Swedish Rating Scale, with ratings of level 3 or higher in at least six relevant subjects (excluding Life Orientation).
Both TAC and PCA are committed to cultivating the next generation of agricultural professionals, offering practical training and career pathways in the dynamic agricultural sector.
