MAHIKENG – The MEC for the North West Department of Agriculture and Rural
Development, Madoda Sambatha, has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family,
friends and loved ones of Mr Itumeleng Lengana, a farmer from Modikwe in the Bojanala
Platinum District, who was reportedly murdered over the weekend.
The tragical loss of Mr. Itumeleng Lengana is deeply saddening and entirely unacceptable.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. “I call on community
members to assist the law enforcement by providing any relevant information to aid the
investigation. Community partnership with police remains essential in defeating crime and
safeguarding our rural areas. Farmers are the backbone to our food security, economic
growth, and rural development, and their safety must be always safeguarded. said MEC
Sambatha.
In this time of profound sorrow, the North West Department of Agriculture and Rural
Development reaffirms its unwavering support for the Lengana family and the entire
agricultural community.
